Air Asia X is looking to start KUL-SYD to try and stay ahead of Scoot out of SIN, and the only aircraft they have that can do the service with are now flying to KUL-LGW. Makes sense to drop a route that is barely breaking even at best for one that has a potential to be profitable, and try and get a foothold before Scoot launches in May-Jun.
