'Pros' couldn't agree more there with yr comment in some ways but the stupid thing about all this is that there is no need to risk the lives of others, higher risk that is (pilot/crew etc) when there are safer options!
..........still it all boils down to one thing I guess,money, aviation & money go hand in hand & safety/risk gets put on the back burner.
Always amuses me what's the single biggest reason we have multi engined A/C in the first place? SAFETY. The power output of today's modern large jet engine for Eg could easily push a large airliner thru the sky as a single unit but it's not done as the manufacturers would never sell one 'cause it's unsafe.Boeing & Airbus would pump 'em out like hot dogs if they could sell 'em!
As I have said many times before it's all about choice & I simply wouldn't chose to fly in a higher risk environment than needed
