CONF iture,
STALL WARNING: When the threshold is reached, a permanent aural stall warning is triggered "STALL + CRICKET" as long as a correct angle-of-attack is not recovered.
It could be argued that that description is correct provided the stall warning is respected as called for in FCOM 3.04.27 p.6:
Alternate law, pitch
(...)
An aural "STALL, STALL, STALL" warning sounds at low speeds. Upon hearing it, the pilot must return to the normal operating speeds by taking conventional action with the controls:
- Thrust levers .... TOGA
At the same time:
- Pitch attitude .... REDUCE
(...)
I strongly suspect that AB system designers never realized that airspeed could become as low as 60 kt in flight. As I explained in post #812, the true CAS didn't get as low and probably never will. It is the INDICATED airspeed that is mis-reading when AoA exceeds 25 degrees. That indicating error was unknown, since the airspeed indicating system was never calibrated in those conditions. Could the indicating error have been expected? Perhaps.
