Well these routes are allready operated by the charter airlines so in fairness the number of destinations served from Cardiff should remain the same however capacity will be reduced.
We have allready seen the addition of Mahon from Cardiff from Thomas Cook and it is not beyond possibililty that capacity maybe added if required.
The withdrawal of bmibaby pluss their constant chopping & changing of routes sometimes even before they start to operate has had a negative impact on the airport. Other airlines will be reluctant to operate these routes as they strugle to see how they could make the route work if bmibaby couldn't.
However the Zurich route was a great announcement which hopefully will eventually work out. Now we can also add Barcelona and Orlando Sanford which are two routes historically been good for Cardiff.
Success breeds success and if this continues the we could look at a decent 2013 as i envisage a reduction in 2012 due to withdrawal of bmibaby.
