Without knowing the crew, the exact circumstances nor the cause of the accident, it does seem to highlight the need to know one's limits and stick to them.
Limits being the equipment on board, the environmental issues, the availability and training of crewmembers, the endurance etc.
Number one rule in rescue operations: don't become another victim. Sometimes that means saying no.
Having said that, my heart goes out to the deceased and their next of kin.
They tried to make a difference.
