What is it with Williams that they either don't hold onto decent drivers or can't get them to sign on the line?
The ultimate Williams gaffe (of many) was the Senna test at Donington; Senna's first ever drive in an F1 car.

Almost immediately, Senna destroyed the Williams driver lap times, spotted a sneaky wing setting change during the session and at one point was told to slow down, to which he replied along the lines that he wasn't on the limit.

...and Frank Williams let him walk away. [email protected]

Edit:

...and, just to complete that particular fiasco, killed him many years later, courtesy a team of mechanics incapable of a decent steering column modification.
