This is due to lack of availability of TREs & TRIs at Jet. Though there are around 90 of them in a work force of 1200 national pilots & around 200 expats, their workload becomes a problem due to this poor ratio between Tre, Tri, & line pilots. Many are used to fill in line flying shortages from training slots in various fleets, with the Ng fleet having the biggest training backlog for inductee pilots.

The 100th aircraft a B-737 800 just came in. Will start operational flying on 5th Dec. Each aircraft needs additional flight deck crew of atleast 10 for viable operations.

Upgrades to Capt from F/O are on a continuing basis more so on the Ng & ATR fleets where shortages exist. Again this process take around 5 months from selection to line flying release.Vacancies for type rated Capts & F/Os as lateral inductees are open on the above two fleets too.

So where does that leave the fresh inductee pilot? Sadly, on a very low priority basis.
