@skipness, no harm a plane being old, but the airlines should have pride and make sure the cosmetic stuff is taken care of... i am sure even an old BA plane is 100% safe (will not expect anything less from BA) but as a passenger that paid over £3500 for my flight i think the stuff i mentioned are important.
