You're right till a certain point
But if you think of it from another perspective, no pilot would want to be unemployed, so weather it takes 20 Lakhs or a new type rating with a bond, the pilot would know that being unemployed in aviation is a ticking clock therefore would choose whatever comes first, notwithstanding the fact that all airlines are currently hiring for experienced first officers thus options are many.

An airline shutting down also gives them the freedom to apply to Companies in the Middle East / China and far east.

Indigo has enough space for as many pilots weather from AI or KF, as their current pilots fly anywhere from 75-90 hours a month, plus new planes coming in every month.

Jet is a different issue altogether.
People selected in 2008 got delayed by 2 years, feb 2011 recruitment is still pending.

Even though there are a large number of people in wait for the right seat of the wide bodies, still first officers from Indigo, KF and AI with A320 hours were recently recruited, trained and now are almost online on the A330s.

I wonder if anyone protested against that.

So weird things are happening in Jet.
