+1 for the Dual.
it does need a view of the northern horizon to get a good sat pickup.
The only problem I have had is leaving it in the aircraft ...luckily it has reappeared in my mailbox (so far).
I bought an external battery pack that will recharge any USB powered device (including the iPad2)
from here as insurance against the iPad running out of steam just when you really need it.
