Arik does not need London...Arik makes zero money on London..and that is the only destination they have in the EU...there are no grounds to not allow Arik into EU Airspace so dont talk rubbish, The Arik Lagos-Heathrow flight is operated by HI-FLY a Portuguese EU JAA Member state and the aircraft are registered on their AOC under Portuguese registration so how are the UK going to get an EU JAA airline banned in Europe ????
For BA the Heathrow-Lagos route is the most profitable route the airline has in the history of their entire operation..and I bet it works out pretty well for Virgin also. The Heathrow-Lagos is gold for BA..sending a 747 full on a 6 hour flight and then back full the same day...do the maths...the same for Virgin using an A340-600 which is a 17-19 hour long haul aircraft on a 6 hour flight full is gold.....Full economy....full business class......cargo in the holds.....then charge all the Nigerians excess baggage charges as they travel heavy..and then sell £1000`s of Duty free chocolate and gifts on board during the flight.
