My comment is that IMO the Captain should have been there.
For both Hawker750 and BOAC - from the POV of a skipper that often punches through the ITCZ with two F/Os. I am ALWAYS on the flightdeck through the weather
Every single time. As I would expect my fellow captains to be when I'm taking advantage of staff-travel through the same areas.
Likewise I am always in my seat when crossing the Himalayas - FL280 being the on airway MSA... Why some of my fellow skippers aren't is a source of endless confusion to me
