Been running Firefox 7.0.1 for some time without any issues.
When you say a "Java Plug-in" can you be a little more specific? Is this a Firefox plug-in - if so - which?

There is also a hit for this on Mozilla which suggests that it can be caused by the McAfee Site Advisor extension. If you are running that then disable it in the Add-on Manager tab.

Unless I am mistaken Flightradar24 does not require the Java runtime to be installed on the local machine (at least I do not run the Java runtime but can get into flightradar24 without any problem) .
Are you sure you are not confused it with Javascript?
