I landed at Greenham a few years ago on the remains of the Southerly runway in a balloon which was able to pull up in the short distance available. While the runway was short etc. etc. etc.
Bimbling around the area in a balloon is rather fun and a number of hard stands in the surrounding woods remind you of the purpose of the site.
The outline of the old runway does make a fantastic line feature for aeros while flying something rather more sporty.
