Danscowpie - as you say, that was a year ago - in any case are things that rosey elsewhere? With the hits being taken by the aviation industry worldwide, a lot of people have taken a reality check and are now making the best of what they have. Lot of decent people elsewhere losing/lost their jobs as companies fail/contracts end...
Mind you I can't imagine them taking on anyone they thought would
"take everything I could, get the experience and then consider moving on after a few years."
But you're right though - they do still seem to have a policy of continuous career advancement for existing staff. I think at least 2 ADIs in the last year or so, gone on to do APS, and they have always looked to "bring-on" their ATCAs as well. Of course it pays dividends in the long run - low staff turnover - there is a high percentage of NE born and bred ATCOs- no-one considering moving on in a few years...
