I think Gillard has won this round. There is too long to run to the next election for a traditionally apathetic electorate to "maintain the rage".

At least that's what she's counting on.

I think the focus will shift back to the Government's general incompetence, waste and inability to deliver efficient programs.

The cracks are now appearing in the NBN, for example.

The opposition can just keep stoking the fires on a number of fronts; so that when labor/greens goes, it will be for a multitude of reasons rather than their just being a mob of egotisitical, immoral, dictatorial, anti-democratic socialists.

Sadly, in their place, we'll get egotistical, immoral, pseudo-democratic conservatives - but that's government.

Had to chuckle at News 24 last night. While broadcasting footage of Ms Gillard repeatedly proclaiming to the House that the great majority of Australians supported the Clean Energy Future and the Carbon Tax, they ran a sub text that Greg Combet had stated he would be working very hard to convince the community of the benefits of the scheme.

Gillard - she speaks well but just can't stop uttering falsehoods.
