From what I have seen from several guys that come out from the UK, that they have had to do a bit of work to convert to aus licences.
If money is a bit tight, i'd be tempted to leave recurrency until you got out here. Failing that, if the habit is eating at you, i'd find somewhere to just go feed the habit
