The 'equality in death' - friend or foe - can be occasionally testing. At a northern ADGE unit about 20 years ago, an NCO committed suicide by hanging himself from a railway bridge, whilst wearing various female garments. Further investigations of his background revealed some pretty awful activities that his wife and family where unaware of. Nonetheless, and quite rightly, he was awarded a full military funeral, but there was quite a bit of chuntering around the station at the time, by personnel questioning the approriateness of this service recognition.
