I'd heard of a glider pilot who had not done a thorough check of his glider upon rigging for the first time in summer.
While on tow he could hear a rolling rattling noise like somebody had put marbles in the wing.
He landed rather sharpish and found about 100 acorns! apparently squirels think Ka6 wings are great hiding places.

I did find a torch in the engine bay of a tommie once during pre-flight, it wasn't a small one either!
