I have had to consider the same issues over many years. For me the reg that works the best is the M (Isle of Mann). They will validate all ICAO licences, usually within 24hrs, with the N you will always need FAA licenced crew. And they will be happy for your aircraft to be maintained to the equivalent standard as the FAA required, in other words, the manufacturers spec, they will approve any proven quality maintenance provider.
