This is all very simple.
Mainline is a basket case, with overheads through the roof. It will never recover unless it is rebuilt from the ground up a la Swiss. I think it will be sold.
Baby is poised to be a great loco, but needs investment badly. I think someone will come alomg and buy it and turn it into something great. The people involved are just too good to let go.
Regional is the jewel, a rare thing at the moment, an airline that makes money despite under investment and suffering from neglect. The people involved are resilient and resourceful. I think LH know this and will keep regional in the group.
BTW. yesterday (29th) LH board approved the purchase of extra planes for the 'group' my bet is that the 5 E195s are for regional. They will operate from the end of next year into FRA from the major Uk cities.
Chin up baby and regional, the future is bright, mainline.......not so much!
