Would you prefer to spend two years in Nelson Mandela's cell until one day a man comes in and cuts your throat or would you prefer to be free for two years until one day they put you in an arena with a sword to fight against a heavily armed warrior who most likely is going to kill you but you still have a chance for killing or injuring him?
I would prefer the second option.
