haha
In portugal they don't kill the bulls.
In France they do.
A bull is never ever fighted twice, because the bull would certainly kill the bull fighter. During the fight, the bull learns. Some learn real quick and are specially dangerous for that.
Bull fighting is not like dog or cock fights. No bloodthisty crowd.
People don't go to the plaza to see suffering or cruelty, nor places any bets. Actually, a bull fighter who doesn't cleanly kill the beast will not be awarded any trophy by the audience. The kill has to be quick and clean.
People want to see a brave bull and a matador who fights it.
What people love is when a bull does not retreat, does not fear the bull fighters, attacks with energy and without faltering, even after receiving several lance strokes or three sets of banderillas. People love when the bull thrusts the horse and topples it because it has a mighty strength and will of fighting. People feel bad when the bull retreats. Then they know the bull is not brave. Then there is cruelty rather than fight and people do not enjoy that, I can tell you. They are often sent back out from the arena and substituted by another bull.
People love when the matador is getting closer and closer, his suit getting red with the animal's blood, sometimes with his own blood. Many times they receive "minor" injuries, or not so minor, and they keep on fighting the bull. In the "third act" the matador will throw himself to the bull, face to face, weapon to weapon, with a sword. In that moment risk is really high. Many have died in doing so, like "el Yiyo", whose heart was destroyed by one of the bull's horns and said to his brother "this bull has killed me" and died before touching the ground. You can do that in different manners, some of which very risky. People like when the matador chooses a dangerous way. People remembers the name of the bulls who killed a matador. "Burlero" killed Manolete. His name is in history.
What is the name of the NZ bull whose tenderloin meat I ate yesterday?
Brave bulls are warriors. You can think of the matador as a gladiator, but the bull is a gladiator too, a natural born gladiator.
You guys think you are in possession of truth and morality and guess what: You are not in possession of any of those.
Bull fighting is an art and a noble tradition and it is a beautiful thing. If you don't like it, don't go to a bull fight.
As for Iberia, on what grounds do you guys judge IB so terribly? Are you IB frequent flyers of IB and other airlines?
I am, and I know many of the shortcomings of IB, but has a pretty good standard, in my opinion. At first I thought it was awful, but then I started flying LH, BA, swiss, KLM... And found they were not specially good, to be honest.
Finally, I don't know the figures but I think IB pilots are not better paid than BA pilots, even considering cost of life in UK and Spain.
