Those pictures really brings back memories. I knew nearly all of them. Funnily I was thinking of Dixie Newton today on a totally unrelated matter.
Notice the RN Wessex 5 in background in the picture with the Puma.
Ah memories. Although I never flew the Puma (well I went on a test flight with Bill Pollard once in ABZ) I did a lot of time in its successor, the AS332L (even flew the L1 in Norway LN-OBA).
John Hoskins, Steve Forde, Ron Miles (RIP), Eddie Ford, Throbbin Robin but to name a few of the Sumburgh faithfuls.
