A Wings Air ATR72 (a subsidiary of Lion Air in Indonesia) had an engine fire and RTB in Medan on August 9th
according to this report. It was a good outcome as the aircraft landed safely after the RTB. But what was alarming was that the incident was not reported by the flight crew or airline to the NTSC immediately after the incident as required by law. The only way the authorities knew about it was from the engine manufacturer (Pratt and Whitney) themselves.
And also surprising is that this is a relatively new aircraft of about 2 years old...
