I understand what you mean, but I still believe that there would be a significant discrepancy between the 100 selected from the 800 rather than the 400. Simple probability would suggest that that with the greater pool of candidates (all with good academic credentials) may select more outstanding applicants. As I previously stated however, this would likely be irrelevant anyway considering that BA would have their own criteria at stage 3.
