There is an article in the Flight Safety Bulletin for Summer 2011 (vol 47 no.2) entitled "Aircraft talk to you". It's by a fellow called Mike Maloney, and is from an original posting on here.
The author sounds just like our lamented friend Guppy, anyone know if that's the case?
