Why would IAG wish to contaminate the group with an airline that looks set to lose £200million this year? bmi has essentially turned into bmed. BA didn't want it then....why on earth would they want it now?
Yes bmi is set to lose big bucks this year, but remember if BA took over the management of bmi would no longer be needed once integration was completed, also the impact of the BA connectivity at LHR would improve the fortunes of the now bmi. In addition, if BA had to adsorb losses in the short terms it still would make sense in the long term in strenghtening the BA stand at LHR.
BA didnt want it then at the price, who said they didnt want it, WW has said he is prepared to talk, and beside the price tag should be much more flexible now given that LH is faced with losses.
