BA's history in buying out other airlines has hardly been a success.
Its easier to buy new aeroplanes than spending millions getting rid of an odd ball fleet and filtering out the inherited deadwood staff which cost them a fortune in the past.
It might as well just expand, recruiting the pick of BMI staff on the lowest paypoint and pay LH for the slots (which is the only thing it really wants).
