The French version uses words such as
'monte' (climb) and
'descend' (descend). I suggest that the BEA were under time constraints and the translation wasn't peer reviewed by AAIB / NTSB. The PF / PNF obviously knew what they were talking about as the odd English word was inserted into a French string.
