Now, now Captain BE please do not get too upset. I think what Buster is getting at is that Luton has had so many negative comments over the years from our friends in Essex that he is only making light-hearted comments.
It was not so long ago that Stansted was regarded by many as the best thing since sliced bread what with cross subsidies etc. Those times have now gone and Stansted like all other airports has go to stand on its own feet. To compare it to Gatwick (the busiest single runway airport in the world) is stretching it a bit IMHO what with BA and Virgin having bases there (none at Stansted and ever likely to have). The only saving grace is these ideas of a new airport in the Thames Estuary which are just pipe dreams me thinks. How can anybody contemplate putting over 60,000 people out of work and live in West London and the surrounding areas.
