Came as pax through STN last night. While waiting at the domestic baggage claim, made use of the car park payment machine installed there. £65 for a few hours over 24.
Straight out to car, drove down to barrier, where it extraordinarily demands an extra £2.40 (with no way to pay it). Go back to adjacent payment machines which tell me the extra is the charge for - 17 minutes.
Call controllers from the machine, treated like a zombie as ever, until I patiently explain in several different ways that I have just paid the full amount and walked straight out. Am then told "in future use the machines in the car park, not those other ones at the baggage claim, which do this", and they go through a procedure to let me out.
What idiot beancounter has bought two different types of machine, one of which appears incompatible with the gates ?
