To the contrary, a further NU,
as requested by the pilot, would have allowed the aircraft to reach the 11 degrees of positive
attitude as recommended by Airbus for ditching, and would most likely have resulted in a better touchdown and no or less structural failure at the aft underside part of the fuselage.
