Peter, obviously, with HP, the forward GC is more felt in the aft cyclic in hover..

I've trained in both, over 200 hours R22 now, incl bunch of solo flying. HP is very nice for lateral CG flying solo, as well, obviously left skid toe bit low two up, as I fly it with instructor.

HP has more power than Beta. It's not just the weight of fuel that reduces Beta II's performance. Also picking up BII solo on full tanks is bit tricky, like backwards slope, with the extra mass aft of mast.

As mentioned, no aux tank means easier view of flex plate and push-pull rods and their ends.

bungee 'sissy trim' is good for long XC trips, reduces wrist fatigue, instead of pulling the cyclic to right in cruise, one has to apply slight pressure to the left instead, resting hand/wrist against the leg/knee.
