Footless Halls (I'll bet you'll be FH from now on...) when I first gave a look at this thread - March 2011 - all I could see was a bunch of extraordinarly talented people who could guess correctly on the basis of apparently no info at all.
I thought I could never do that.
But I kept trying, because it was great fun.
Then I started to learn some tricks of the trade and started to actually guess correctly some challenges.
To date I have more than 80 kills, doing a job (irl) which has nothing to do with aviation.
So my advice is to keep trying! Because once you have started... it becomes addictive!
