I think most people know I'm a grouchy old cynic when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I'm not exactly sure how they reconcile this article with the one on the front page predicting the imminent meltdown of the US economy and the 10 year recession that will follow if they can't get their debt crisis sorted soon
However, IF this was true, and I know this is mostly a British / European website, but there's a hell of a lot of Yanks on furlough from the majors, working for the likes of Emirates and on Asian contracts ... IF they all went home to their old jobs, and IF the asian market went berserk, those airlines would have no choice but to do a lot of recruitment of experienced pilots from Europe, and there would therefore be a lot of new jobs in the system for the likes of yourselves.
