Agreed, and it will always be a rate-limiting factor, but silhouetting (once in a while, if not semi-professionally re. Mate) is not difficult and is available for all, as are the "photobuckets". (I did my first ones in Photobucket and as you have demonstrated, felt pen and a scanner is a very efficient way).
Part of the "problem" is that a newcomer may feel that s/he is ridiculed, which our banter sometimes looks to unsensitized folks, as (or although) we usually carefully make stress tests to people, ourselves included.
I would not give up the banter, though, a frienly (and, at times witty
) banter is the salt and honey of this thread. And we can make sure that we are understood in this respect.
