About the 5000 fresh CPL - holders from India, some of them have a Single Engine CPL
Not some but i would say atleast 1/3 are not multi engine qualified .
Some only have a single engine and no instrument rating at all
One of the reasons they dont obtain a multi rating is because airlines like Jet Airways and Spicejet dont require a multi rating
This must be the reason why airlines like IndiGo started a cadet pilot program .
Ofcourse you have to pay for everything yourself
