If the air asia japan aircraft are Japanese registered then any pilots recruited will have to go through the whole JCAB box and dice - medical, endorsement (regardless of previous experience) and JCAB exams and checks (the air law is a killer in particular).

See threads on Air Japan for details, but there are about 800 ex JAL guys still looking for work, so doubtful they will import foreigners, particularly from other parts of Asia.

Very few of the AJX / AJV pilots live in Japan. The company will not sponsor you for a residential visa. Its a commuting contract only....
