Clio Toros, whilst I don't mind having a resident cynic I do object to hypocracy when you quote statistics such as
"...but then only a few of our profession view them, fewer contribute..." about these forums. I am pretty sure I know who you are and if I am correct then you are the type of person who goes around in life believing that you know everything and are incapable of uttering anything that could be misconstrued as being pompous tripe. Unfortunately the majority of those around you end up humouring you just to shut you up.
You don't like PPRuNe because people on here can and do stand up to you whereas in real life you hide behind your rank and seniority whilst offending colleagues and intimidating lower ranks. You obviously don't realise this and so, when it is pointed out to you on here, or you find out someone actually says behind your back that you are a pain in the rear at work, you just spout off about how this source of information is not worthy. Hypocracy such as yours only goes to prove what a good medium we have here and
I do have the statistics to counter your fantasy ones.
The guestbook which has been running for over 5 years has been signed by nearly 30,000 readers and they can, and almost always do put their profession down when signing it. Over 50% of them are airline pilots, 15% military pilots with the rest spread between wannabes or others working in the airline industry. Whilst you would like to see this website disappear and keep the job that I and the majority of readers as some kind of 'black art' you really should accept that we are in the 21st century and information technology is here to stay.
I certainly don't mind criticism of PPRuNe and in fact need it when it is constructive in order to keep improving the service. I also don't mind cynicism, in fact encourage it to balance some of the more sychophantic or 'cult' type posts but I do object to people like you making 'factual' quotes about PPRuNe when you have no access to statistics except your personal fantasy that you are somehow always right and your personal vendetta against sources that can and do show you up for the nast little person you probably really are.
