Have to agree with Yoyo.
Keep the family well away until you are at least towards the end of line training (about 2 months after joining).
No disrespect, but WK has a point.... you WILL find it a tough transition coming from the CRJ to the A330, but moreover it will be the EK operation that will present the biggest challenges for you. You WILL really need to bury your head in the books and study hard as nothing here is handed to you on a plate training wise, so if you have the distraction of the family milling around, you will find it very tough indeed!
EK only provide educational allowance to kids who have gone past their 4th Birthday at the beginning of the academic year.
