Forgive me, I realise that you asked us to be gentle! Therefore, and in order to avoid a rant, I will ask you a question:
- You are moving your wife , kids, career to a new airline, aircraft, country, continent and you haven't done the research (having accepted the job) to know the answers to some pretty fundamental lifestyle and work ethic questions?
Hopefully you will get some more constructive answers, you need them, but please don't be posting on here in 3 years time complaining that you don't have the hours for command etc. etc. By the way your naivety extends to the fact that EK and all on PPRune now know who you are!
For what it's worth, I think WK was being relaxed for a change, I wouldn't let my family join me until I could guarantee at least a semblance of a normal lifestyle. Post training and setting up home in Dubai.
