717 can't compete in hot and high, plus they are such a heavier aircraft for not many more seats. Also an orphan with Boeing shutting down production

What is the difference in weight between 717 and F100 AND the difference in payload?
Bigger aircraft = bigger airport = more money
Skywest operate an A320 into YFDF. Was much work required on the strip for this operation?
Edited to add: Boeing built 156 of the 717. Fokker built 283 of the 100s. Also add the previous incarnations of the 717.
