That would depend on where it was. If you are in a remote area, you are going to need help to get home (assuming intact aircraft but no safe T/O strip). Without having confirmed radio or phone contact to cancel SAR and organise retrieve I would certainly use the ELT. No point landing safely and dying of thirst.
