Stillalbatross - fine given your personal circumstances etc., but the reality of the JQ aviation parasites is that next time round they will be driving your deal down by undercutting - they did it with their 'start up' CC in AUS and their record of integrity is sadly lacking.
Even with the wife/kid/dog factors (which ARE important) - it's still a dud deal that only serves to drive the benchmak down. The net impact on the airline's CASK by paying Pilots as professionals is so minor that it does not warrant the time to do the maths.
Enjoy it mate if it's what you want, but don't expect AUS Pilots to be happy when JQ starts backdooring QF again with domestic 'tag' flights across our patch.
Ultimately the parasites in control of JQ will screw us all over unless we're happy living on third world conditions in the burbs of southern china.
