Hi jack, when the JAA was active - harmonising the rules for aircraft certification, maintenance and operations mainly - it set up a small training team to spread the word about the new rules and how they could be implemented. Then the rules setting task was handed over to EASA and the JAA wound down.... eventually to nothing. But the training arm spun off into a commercial training organisation covering far more than the original JAA topics. Since then it has expanded the number of locations at which it offers training too. From my experience much of the training is very good and it is well organised. I believe the particular course that you mention is delivered by a guy who has trained lots of people in auditing and covers all the basic skills that you would need.
