One of the Lancaster pilots at Waddo, 'dad', back went as he climbed over the bomb bay. He managed to get to his seat flew for 3 hrs of so and the climbed out still bent in the middle like a one-string-fiddle.
No fitness tests in those days but had there been he would have been out in a trice, medical pension and a large disability pension to boot.
Situps; used to do a hundred or so, now difficult to sit up in bed.
