You have to bear in mind that I passed my amateur radio exam on my 14th birthday in 1961, I've been professionally employed in radio engineering since 1964, I chair a European standards committee on certain radio applications, have written EMC standards for radios and so on. But it is a hardy perennial. I know one so called 'expert' who never turns his cell 'phone off on an aeroplane. He says it has never crashed yet.
