Safeskys has been involved with the bidding for Gibraltar Air Traffic Control Services since 1993 when it was first contracted out. We have tendered twice since.
You are right in noting the problems but the solution is not to treat it like any International Airport. It is a RAF Station which has civil movements. The ATCOs need to be recruited with the low movement rate in mind and the high tax and cost of living in Gibraltar is also a factor.
It is also highly political which may be the reason why NATS were given the contract last time.
What would you suggest are the main problems and what are the solutions. Pm me.
