EI have a 1 million seat sale and it has being a while since we seen that.
The volume of discounted seats/inventory is somewhat irrelevant in many respects.
We have seen sustained discounting on Aer Lingus T/A and Euro flights since the mid-part of Q1, 2009. That's something that will continue for quite some time to come, given the current state of the domestic economy and the persistent contraction of disposable incomes. Whilst the deep discounts of 2009 have since faded - fare levels remain well off their peaks - especially on T/A flights, which is really no harm considering just how expensive they had become - with, at the time (Pre-2009) a generally inferior hard product.
